Tara Mines is a zinc and lead mine near Navan, County Meath, Ireland. Development started in 1973 and production began in 1977. Tara Mine is operated by Boliden. It is the largest zinc mine in Europe and the ninth largest in the world producing 200,000 tonnes of zinc concentrate and 40,000 tonnes of lead concentrate annually.
Boliden mines are the safest in the world and that is why they hire AFEC Fire Engineers. AFEC have been engaged as fire safety consultants for New Boliden to develop and implement best practice fire safety fire engineering for their underground mining operations.
AFEC will act as designers and project managers for this exciting and progressive project, implementing state of the art holistic and fire safety design.
